Many different companies issue variations like this shortly after the landing. Photos would help. If combined with both stamp and coin in an envelope these were known as PNC"s. Philatelic/Numismatic Covers.

A 1972 coin would indicate 2.5 years after the landing of Apollo 11...

At least 2 1/2 years after the event, and it could have been put together at any time from 1972 to yesterday. It is a private company thing not any kind of official set.

Yes, a private issue but I do not know who made this. Not a PNC as I thought but same type of idea. Might have been Littleton Coin Co. or even Numismatic News as they once gave out premiums for a paid subscription. You might want to contact them and send along pictures to see if anyone on their staff might recognize it.

After 1978 as it states that the Ike dollar circulated from 1971-1978.
