I actually bought it as a counterfeit, because it was a counterfeit (it only cost me a dollar). Yes, the signs that it is cast are clear in hand. If you compare the crispness of your genuine example to the softness of mine, you'll easily recognize the fake. I did own a genuine example graded NGC MS-62 at one point, but I seem to have lost those pictures.
I find identifying those square-holed Chinese coins a challenge but enjoyable! I will move us from China to Bhutan. Why? Because I obtained it for this list. And I did not have any coins from Bhutan. So there!
Slightly rough condition, but believe it or not I got this in change when I spent a week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia:
I'm really glad you went in that direction, because I love Egypt! I spent 6 weeks in Egypt in high school building an orphanage, and these are some of the coins I got while over there (this was the summer of 2001). Nothing rare or valuable, this is literally pocket change, but still super cool. My time over there is one of the best memories of my life.
Ha! How about this move? I taking us to San Marino. I love those micro-states. From whence goeth we here?
