Obverse: Reverse: I've just been positng these to see how my grading compares to that of other people. Thanks for looking!
As stated before, it's difficult to tell from photos, but assuming this coin truely has no wear, I'd say MS-65.
Hey Adam, :thumb: How did you manage to not get massive glare off the coin when photographing it? I tried last night with a couple of my Walkers and it didn't turn out too well. :headbang: Ribbit
Well, I don't want to influence anyone else's grade opinions on this one, but I gotta say, I'm pretty sure there is some obvious wear on the eagle's feathers unless it is an extremely weak strike. Upon further examination though, maybe it is just a weak strike...hmmm
I don't really know. I'm new to photographing coins. I just used the macro function, and had a combo of natural and artificial light. Make sure your flash is off. Every coin pic I've taken with flash on has ended up with terrible glare.
The '43-P is not particularly known for a weak strike, so I think your opinion is likely correct. But in the pics you have it is quite difficult to see breaks in the luster. That's because of the angle you took the picture from - that is what causes silver coins to look like this in pics. Try a bit of a different angle with both the light and the camera and you will get a pic that looks a lot closer to how the coin looks in hand.
GDJSMP, thanks for the advice. I've been trying different lighting and a little bit of different angling, but I still haven't been able to capture design detail AND luster in the same photo. It seems to be one or the other. I'll just have to keep practicing though.
