    Won this last night. Was my very first win at Heritage Auctions. Nice in-collar strike. Not exactly sure what kind of clips exactly, but it's is a beauty!

    I thought a bowtie clip is a coin struck on the shredded remains of a punched out strip?

    According to that site, there are 2 different ways the bowtie clip is made: chopped webbing or just two large curved clips.
    yours looks like it was a piece of left over webbing.

    This one actually isn't a bowtie error. It is an extreme double curved clip.
