I think a good mylar holder would be a better route to go, if you wish
To protect it, you will spend upwards of $100 in fees and postage when
All is said and done to get the VF grade you seek, however grading notes
Is deigned to increase the value of the note, so you have to ask yourself
This question is the note worth $450 in VF35 ?

I've never graded a note, but you think it would cost $100? That's a bit insane. I was thinking it would cost more like $20. Anything over $20 and I'd certainly agree with using just a BCW heavy duty currency holder. The main thing is that something is done to protect it.

    $100 is an exaggerated guess.

Economy is $25 for notes under $1,000 in value. Add another $20 for shipping (both ways) and you’re still under $50.

Now that's doable. $100 is a bit steep even for my blood!

LOL , graded notes are all i do, when all is said and done your costs will be right
around the century mark unless you go to a show and are lucky enough that its
Big enough that PMG is there and has on site grading, but here again you still have
To pay for gas and entry in to the show and stay over nite as it usually takes
24 hours probably Longer, so is it worth it in this case, i would say no.

I’m not here to argue @mpcusa.

My latest receipt for having 3 notes graded.
Totaling $86.00. Postage to PMG was $9.40.

Another thing to watch for is ironing. It makes lots of wrinkles go away, and makes notes feel crisper than they should.

I don't think it is higher than 30.
There are areas of concern, folds, staining etc.
While it looks nice for the date, someone tried to improve it,
and that might work against you if they detect improper conservation methods.
    It prob comes back 25.

LOL.. No ones arguing over here, going the least expensive way is fine, however
Everything i ship in, is registered and boxed sealed which is around $20 each way
and i usually go for the standard grading service $60 when you consider packaging
Gas and time you arrive at triple digits, since the note in question is under the
Minimums, most of what i send in is over, so i tend to pay more.

But even at the bare bone dollar for services, you will still be hard pressed to
Recover the premium as there is no guarantee when it comes to grade as it
Is very subjective ! to add insult to injury if the note doesnt grade out a 35
and lets say only does a 30, not only did you pay someone else to tell you
Its worth less but now it will be impossible to even recover you original
Investment, grading is a mind field, best to know what your doing before
Taking the plunge !! Just my two cents.....

  12. Thank you everyone. I have returned this note.
