1815 Haiti Republique Silver 25 Centimes Howdy fellow coin peeps, :thumb: I thought I'd share my newest "world" aquisition with you, even though I have others I haven't shared yet but I will shortly. I purchased this from someone I've purchased several other "world" coins from in the past (most of the other ones I need to post) and he attests to its authenticity but I will send it off for official authenticating after it arrives. The pics are the seller's pics and I will provide better ones once it arrives with another coin I also purchased from this seller with this transaction (saves on shipping). I've had only positive dealings with this seller so I believe this to be authentic and also because it comes from a place where something like this could easily stay hidden from the world. Ribbit
NGC said the same thing so as soon as it arrives I'm shipping it off to them for authenicating/grading. Something like this has to be officially authenticated/graded to get what it's worth, if I ever decide to sell it but I'll probably keep it with my colonial collection I'm building. Thanks for your input! :thumb: Ribbit Ps: Request - will a Mod please edit the tilte of this post and change 1813 to 1814. I thought it was an 1813 25 Centimes but found out after posting this that it is an 1814 so I'd appreciate someone correcting the title for me since I can't. :thumb:
If anyone has access to Klause (sp?) the numbers are KM 12.1 (1813) & 12.2 (1814-1816). Any information from there would be greatly appreciated. :thumb: Ribbit
The Krause number is Haiti KM#12.2 (20-21 mm). KM#12.1 was only issued in 1813, with date "L'An 10". Your coin is neither 1813 or 1815, but 1814, with date 'L'An XI'. Independence year was 1804, which is "year 1 - l'an 1". "L'An XI" or 'year 11' happens to be 1814. KM#12.2
Kewlie Beans! I had no clue as to date and had to go by what someone told me that knew more than I did. I appreciate you taking the time to look that up and for posting what you found. :thumb: Ribbit
