Well, I paid a little more than I probably should have, but it sure is pretty.

@Seattlite86 - nice pickup. Those pastel colors are sweet.

Thank you (and everyone else). I think I prefer circulated coinage a bit more than the MS stuff, but some of these MS coins are incredibly beautiful. I'm not sure if this is a "keeper", but time will tell :)

    Great color!

It depends on what you're collecting. If I could find a way to justify this, it would absolutely be a keeper.

Especially if you paid a bit too much for it, you should hold on to it for a while.

Thanks! The more I look at the obverse, the more I worry. The plastic around the coin seems multi colored, to include right below the label. It just seems... weird.

Nah, that's just an artifact of the lighting. Don't worry about it, it won't look that way in hand.

Well, my wife sent me a couple photos and said that she thinks the seller doctored the images (something I suspected). She described the coin as "dull, warped and dirty looking". Would you return this coin?

I don't think I would make any decisions based on those pictures. Sure, the seller probably used advantageous lighting. But your wife's quick pictures look like they aren't really using any lighting at all!

Wait until you can see the coin in hand, and look at it under your lights. A 400 year old coin should be dirty looking! I'm not sure what she means by "warped"?

Unfortunately, by the time I get to the coin, it'll be too late to return. She has the photos from the Ebay description and said the two look nothing alike. She's convinced the colors on the coin were played with.

I think with the proper lighting the shots would reveal the coins true beauty. It’s a 64, not a 67. So maybe it is a bit dull, but I still think it’s a decent coin, considering it was made 400 years ago. I’d keep it :)

This could potentially be a better rendition of how it looks in hand.

Thank you for the feedback. I'll hold onto the coin; it's still a cool piece of history. I truly only bought this because of the pastel coloring look, otherwise, I want to shoot for more XF/AU grades as I like the idea that the coins I collect were actually spent/circulated after being struck. Cheers.

I may be alone in this, but I still like this coin very much in the PCGS photo you posted, and even in the quick & dirty cell phone pics your wife took. If it were me (and I realize it's not), I'd wait until I could see in hand for myself.
