Lamination error

    I'm wondering if this is a lamination error and if it is what kind. It's a 1996 D quarter. Thanks for the help.

    If it's not a lamination error of some kind with the copper showing through then what is it.

    Some kind of corrosion to the clad layer. Post mint damage.
