^ Nice additions, Paddy. I rarely add greeks of any kind to my collection, here is one small one that didn't cost very much. Lydia. Sardes ( 188-133 B.C.) Æ15 O: Laureate head of Apollo right. R: ΣAPΔIANΩN; divided by club, all within wreath 3.52g 15mm SNG Copenhagen 470 ff.
From today's CNG sale. Sellers photo and description. IRAN, Pahlavis. Muhammad Reza Shah. AH 1360-1398 / AD 1941-1979. AV Half Pahlavi (20mm, 4.07 g, 12h). Tehran mint. Dated SH 1348 (AD 1969). KM 1199; Friedberg 102. Lustrous. EF.
Picked this up the other day. Austria AR 6 Kreuzer 1849B (Hungary) KM-2200 This is the first Hungarian issue attributable to Franz Joseph I. This type is easily found in gem grades with the A (Vienna) mint mark, however, the B (Körmöcbánya) mint coins only made up 1% of the total mintage for this issue and are very difficult to find in any condition. Though all are dated 1849, this type was actually struck over a period of several years.
I like your Gold Ram. I was recently given some Singapore coins, none were gold or silver, lol. Question - If your coin is 24K, how could it have a high nickel content? Also, per your user name, do you play a stringed instrument? I am a rank beginner on the banjo which I enjoy picking everyday.
A couple that came the other day, not yet identified for sure. Likely a Sasanian AR Drachm from pre-1000 AD and probably a Kashmir AE paisa from the mid 1800s.
Here's two new bears I picked up for my collection. 2008 Slovakia 500 korun and 2019 Mongolia 1000 togrog. The Mongolian coin is gold but extremely small - 11 mm and half a gram.
Hungary 2001BP 20,000 Forint Proof A Thousand Years of Hungarian Coinage Gold (0.986) 6.98 g KM-753 NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO This is for a thematic set I've been working on of coins that commemorate Hungarian coinage. This beautiful gold type was only released as a proof, and has a mintage of 3,000 pieces.
Nice additions all. I got a few but unfortunately my camera took a dump on me. Cn't afford to get a new one right now.
Here are a few I picked up recently 1865 Australia Sovereign (Sydney mint) AU53 - all seller's pics Australia 1865 half sovereign VF35- very scarce in any grade - mintage of 62,000 only GB 1847 Gothic Crown well circulated for such a striking issue Honorius (393-423 AD) AV Solidus
