    The only thing I can come up with is a Rim Burr issue. I don't think it is a cud.

    I'd have guessed a lamination, but I will defer to @paddyman98's superior experience with errors.

    I looks like some of the metal was etch away by acid as it has a different color patina and staining along the edge.

    I agree with Lord M. It looks like a lamination to me.

    We see a lot of laminations on early copper.
