    Hi all,
Yet another Roman coin from the lot that I was gifted years ago.
About 1.5cm at its biggest size, but corroded so edge's are irregular. Can faintly make out mint mark at bottom of photo. Any useful help is welcome.
    Thanks

Yep, a late Roman coin, all right, and it looks genuine, but on a somewhat ragged flan. It'll take some of the more experienced folks here to pin down which emperor that is, since the legends are incomplete. Looks to be 4th century Constantinian era to me.

Some of the other ones were constantius II and constans, so that is probable. I know these are genuine but not valuable they have sentimental value and I'm finally getting around to storing them properly.
I'm sure someone else here will be able to closely identify it, I'm in awe with some of the knowledge of the people on here.
    Thanks!

(Reminds me, I need to add at least one New Zealand coin to my collection.)

The reverse type is GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS, two soldiers, one standard. Too worn to say which emperor or mint.

Looks like there is a K visible in the exergue before the officina letter so Cyzicus mint. Style of portrait suggests it was minted after the death of Constantine I, if so then struck between 337 and 340

lucag123, Welcome to CoinTalk :). Your avatar caught my eye too o_O. The coin picturing a greenstone Heitiki brought back old memories when a friend returning from a New Zealand visit brought me a jade Heitiki carved from native New Zealand jade, pictured below. It measured 4.25 in. long & was quite heavy. I had to sell it to cover expenses after getting laid-off long ago :(.

From the portrait probably Constantius II. I have many of these coins. When I have bought hoards of late roman bronze pieces in the past Constantius' II coins are the most plentiful because he had the longest reign - 337-361. Constantine II lasted only 3 years, meeting his demise in 340 whilst Constans died in 350.

Unfortunately the link didnt work, but yes I love the new zealand coinage. We've changed it a few times and have introduced some new specialty coins that I'm in love with.
Some that I would recommend looking out for are the gallipoli commemorative 50c, the pre-decimal coin types and the old 1 and 2 dollar coins.
    good luck!

Stunning! I have a carved manaia, or guardian.
The heitiki is meant to represent your ancestors and acts as a protector from evil spirits.
Its a pity you had to sell it but it was a lovely piece.

My link worked, but the site it goes to must run some kind of hideously slow scripts that make it initially slow to load. It can take a second or three sometimes.

(I can't complain- it's otherwise a nice free site, useful and uncluttered and ad-free.)

If I do NZ in my Eclectic Box (and I will, eventually), it will definitely be predecimal.

    Hey, maybe a Waitangi crown...

    (Ha! Don't I wish!) ;)

lucag123, I've got a handsome Manaia pendant made from kawakawa jade I wear all the time pictured below. My late brother Henry made the 18 kt gold chain for it :).

Might be that I have really bad Internet.

Waitangi crowns are nice. Our predecimal sets are stunning too. The gallipoli and ww1 50c were coins that had colour put into them but not like the tacky 3rd party ones you always see. I'll post a picture when I can find mine.

Stunning!, my ones carved from whale bone. My father bought it for me when I was a kid. Unfortunately the original string has started to wear through so I might need to do something similar.

Thanks. I think I've managed to gather enough to determine what is.
    Thanks!
