I found this at work yesterday and I've been trying to find out more about it and a possible price I'm pretty sure it's an error coin since most of the head side isn't there
That might be an extreme case of a struck through coin. Struck through is when, as the name suggests, the coin is struck through something. This can range from finger grease to cloth to a staple. This seems to be struck through grease, and if not it would be struck through paper or cloth. There are no weave marks from cloth, so I would go with paper or grease. It's a very nice find that would be worth about $15-35!
No mint error there. What you have is a damaged quarter. Someone hit it with a grinder. Worth? 25 cents is they accept it.
Looks like a grinded down quarter. Maybe they made a button from it. With all that damage maybe worth 25 cents.
