Penny Missing number on date

    Unsure if this is a mint error or something post mint. Thanks for your help!

    It could be a mint error (no value) if there was grease or debris in the die at that
    spot and when the coin was struck that number didn't. There is a possibility it
    was worn off post mint, but those numbers next to it were not affected.
    Probably a "struck through grease". That is a true mint error, but unfortunately,
    it's still only worth .01 cent.

    Awesome, thank you for the response. We were hoping it was a something like that. No worries on the .01 cents though its just a very neat thing to look at.

    Your coin is a mint error called Struck Through Debris/Grease.
    It is a copper plated coin and wear would have exposed the zinc underneath the copper. Common error. Makes a nice example to keep.
