Most New Orleans seated dimes of the 1840's are scarce and the 1843-O specially so. In higher grades, the '43-O becomes a rarity - this example shows the right amount of detail.

What an amazing strike for a 49-o! I assume that coin is MS??

(Still looking for a '45 O).

 

Fun coin. Struck with a rusty obverse die. It has PVC damage from being left in an auction holder. I was too stupid to know better. This is a bit of it's history.

At the local high school, I find money everyday. 2 days ago, 26 cents. 3 days ago, 94 cents. Yesturday 1.10. A 1 dollar bill and this 1925 s merc. Only merc I have and an S, my fav. so it's in the collection. Dum Bass kids. Lol
