  1. I know right! It must be from the American Coin Hunt drops or something. Its a 1907 very worn and beat up but really cool nonetheless

@Harpo, help me out (your photo is a bit fuzzy when enlarged) - is that an altered 1959?

Yep. It's a '59-D. Some clever person shaved the tail off. I doubt it was my Dad. He would have used a chisel and hammer.

Thanks you again for putting on these monthly drawings. I always look forward to them just to see what is being given away.

I just finished going through all of my foreign coins and cataloging them. I found 52 silver coins I never knew I had. Most are .500 while some are .800 and a few .925. Fun discoveries.

I'm floored by the generosity of all of you. Really. It really seems to create a sense of community or camaraderie.

That said, I like cats, too! Slow roasted over an open fire . . . . Yummmmmmmm . . . . (Just kidding. I only ate cat once - unknowingly).

My prize preferences are - 8; 12; 10; 1 (Löbau ON HOLD? - if so, bronze antoninianus of Claudius II Gothicus); 11; 6; 9; 3; 2; 4; 7; 5. I'm telling y'all, that was hard work figuring all that out.

Coin related - Got it in the mail today. My very first Ascension Island coin of any type, and my first piedfort, I believe. Heavy chunk of silver - 1.6921 troy (if my calculations are correct). KM P1.

I have been buying rolls of quarters since they let out about the "W" quarters. I cant hardly find a 2019 quarter, let alone a full roll of them. You would think a huge institution like Bank of America would have something other than customer rolled quarters. I just think the slug tellers cant be bothered. Anyone have any suggestions where I might have better luck finding the new quarters?

I'd find a nice original Seated dollar (preferably with CircCam contrast). That would get one of the tougher slots out of the way. I always found the Seated dollars and the Reeded Edge Bust halves to be the toughest types in a Dansco 7070 set, though finding the earlier two types of large cents in acceptable condition without porosity or other problems can be tough too, if you're on a tight budget.

The Löbau porcelain medal is presently marked as being "on hold" merely because it is a new purchase not yet arrived. That does not mean it will be unavailable. It will be available at the end of the month, unless it is sold before then.

Neat coin- I saw Ascension Island once, from a distance. Not many people can say that, due to its remote location out in the middle of the Atlantic. We sailed past it when I was aboard a Greek freighter bound from New York to Cape Town, South Africa.

    Prize #11

If I win and prize 11 is already committed, forward my choice to the next lucky entrant. I believe I am the only collector that hasn’t found a West Point quarter yet!!

Coin related, I offer this ancient Chi-Rho that now adorns my brides neck in a bezel provided by our very own LordM.

Entry post, because I still really want #12!

To keep it coin related: here are pictures of a beautiful Moroccan Rial. It's sitting on my desk right now because I'm working on a new Registry set, and its her turn for a write-up.

One of my first two ancient coins, purchased for $3.75 from Ben's Coin catalogue in 1963 when I was 13 years old. That means I've owned it for about 2.3% of its existence. Scepsis, bronze 9mm. IMG_7630.JPG IMG_7634.JPG
