Nice find. Kind of amazing really. What is the volume of the coins you searched?
And where did you get the coins?

 

Nice find. I believe this is called “wide rim”. I’ve surprisingly found a handful of these over the last couple years. Cool to find but no real premium unless BU.

Thanks! I’ve been wanting one for awhile. A good Premium is always plus but I just like collecting and hunting the different varieties and just happy to be able to add it to my collection.

I got it from my bank the week before last. Was in a $125 lot of Susan Bs that I bought when I cashed my check.

Thanks! I learned about it a year or so ago and have been buying them up whenever I can trying to find one. I’ve probably searched through a couple thousand of them in the past year.

A couple months back I went to the bank here in town to buy a few rolls of coins and any loose half or dollar coins. It was my first time coin roll hunting so I only wanted to spend about $20. I ended up with a 3 presidential gold dollars and 5 SBA's. The rest I spent between penny and nickel rolls. Found a couple nice nickels with the S mint mark, but I was really happy with the SBA's. I ended up with a 1979 "blob s" mint mark and 2 1979 P's. One was the narrow rim and one was the wide rim.
