Recently purchased a nice seated half dollar(imo) to compliment my type set. What do you guys think?

Looks AU-50 details but cleaned to me. It's a decent coin with nice details for a type set.

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

I think that will look very nice in an album.

    Nice addition.
    Looks AU to me.
And I don't see any evidence of cleaning, at least not recently.
But that's a judgement best made with the coin in hand.
Remember, most coins of this age have been cleaned at one time.
The TPGs tend to ignore it if the cleaning is old and not harsh.

The reverse looks nice & original.
The obverse: perhaps an old cleaning.

That's a nice coin to add to any collection. Looks nicer than the 1857 1/2 $ I bought recently.

Is that a belly button I see?

I think about how modest peeps where back in those days and I see some of the coins that were put out and I wonder how they ever got minted? Like the Standing Liberty showing her breasts but then getting a makeover to cover them up.

The detail on this coin is so good, I never realize just how gorgeous she was! :hammer:

    Beautiful coin! :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

Didn't you know women back then had longer arms? That was so they could reach futher into the oven to get the biscuits in the back. :D

    Ribbit :)

Ps: Why is it we always get off topic when I get into the conversation? :D

Good thing there isn't many gals around here to pummel you.
    :D

They must have had push-up bras back then, too.

    I really like the coin.

They usually kept one in the bun and that works better than any push-up bra. :D

HAHA! You guys are so funny! Thanks for admiring my lady. I received the coin several days ago. It is nice, but I do believe it has suffered from an old cleaning on the obverse. There is a small amount of carwheel luster left, but also some mild hairlines in the fields on the obverse. The reverse is stunningly gorgeous! I don't see any wear, except possibly a bit on her hair, but I dont know if I can differentiate between the wear and a weak strike. I'll go with AU-58 details, mildly cleaned. I wish the obverse was toned a little more. Would any of you recommend safely placing this coin in a window sil for several weeks for toning? I've heard about this method, though this is the only coin I have that I had considered doing that with.

Personally I'd just put it in an album and it'll tone by itself over a few years, probably in a much nicer way than leaving it on a window sill.

Beautiful coin by the way. If the lack of obv toning bothers you that much my birthday's coming up in a couple of months ;)
