Not sure of the value but this coin is a trip to look at. Its Itt a rare coin and there are plenty available but this one has slipped through the cracks somehow. It has been struck more than once, not sure how many as there letters and numbers all over the place. This couldn't be damage the letters are in formation to make words if it was legible. Any thoughts please let me know.

If you can check out the nose. It appears as though a number 8 is struck perfect for nostrils making me believe someone did this not die error.

It's just a damaged coin. Probably a parking lot find.

There is no way for that to occur during the minting process. Look up the word Paredolia.

Alex, the key words there are "if it was legible." Alex, the reason it's not legible is because it's not words. It's just damage.
You're just seeing what you want to see because you want to see it.
As paddyman suggests, look up the word "Pareidolia". Now, that's a real word and it will help to explain what we are telling you.

Alex, don't get discouraged and give up coins. Just keep looking, keep searching, keep posting and sooner or later you will find something good.

    I get it dude!
No need to treat like I don't understand. I am a smart man. I have many skills I have mastered in my life and coins will eventually be another I can cross off. If you had the coin in front of you you would agree that they are letters, I'm not delusional.
    Maybe the planchet wasn't blank.
Maybe it was put back through, I haven't a clue. But there surely is no reason for grown men to sit in here and bully me because you don't agree. I'm gonna pick up a microscope and get some decent pictures. What you think then I haven't a care for. But my point will be made ✌️

@Alex Stevens I'm sorry. I've looked at every picture you posted, multiple times. I've tried to give you the benefit of the doubt. I've come back to your thread multiple times thinking I'll see what Alex sees the next time.

I don't get it. I don't see anything you describe.

Damaged. It could certainly look like letters, same as a cloud could look like an elephant. That’s what peredolia is.

No need to treat like I don't understand.
[ But Alex, you don't understand.]
    I am a smart man.
[No one has said you aren't.]
I have many skills I have mastered in my life and coins will eventually be another I can cross off.
[And when you do "master" coins, then you will truly understand.]
If you had the coin in front of you you would agree that they are letters, I'm not delusional.
[Alex, We have your photos. Are they not photos of the coin? You took them. Can YOU see what you're saying is there, in the photos?]
    Maybe the planchet wasn't blank.
Maybe it was put back through, I haven't a clue.
[Alex, those are just excuses as to why you don't want to believe what we're telling you.]
But there surely is no reason for grown men to sit in here and bully me because you don't agree.
[Alex. no one is bullying you. We don't agree because it's not there. You're angry because we don't agree.]
I'm gonna pick up a microscope and get some decent pictures. What you think then I haven't a care for. But my point will be made
[Alex, the more you enlarge your photos, the closer you look with a microscope, the more "stuff" you will see, and none of it will be there.
Alex, as I said before : You see what you see because you want to see it.]

No offense, Alex. Sooner or later, you'll come around.

You have been told the truth. No one was trying to bully you. If you don't want the truth, you are in the wrong place. The coin is damaged, nothing more.

Someone is trying way, way, way too hard to find mint errors.

when in total doubt, send it to a TPG ... but I wouldn't recommend it.

Ok, you all are being just a little too personal here. I am gonna leave some more pictures of the coin and I believe I figured this out. I have marked the #8 several times. There is one strike where it looks like something is moving and the 8 looks like it's on fire, pretty cool. So what I thinking is the reverse was struck with a die from a dime. There are piles of silver every where and you can almost make out the torch to the left of the date. Oh and the date has a G under the 9. Very plain to see.
