Hi Coin talk, I am a relatively new member and have had a lot of coins kept in the family. can anyone please tell me what they are worth. Thanks in advance. And i have heard that the 1996 coin can be worth quite alot?
#1) You need to provide close, clear, properly oriented pictures for us to be of any help. #2) Most of your coins look to be circulated foreign coins. Not worth much, maybe a dollar or 2 if you are lucky. The Kennedy half is worth 50 cents. #3) The one I am most interested in, is the 1st one. Looks to be a British 2 pound coin. There are both brass and silver examples. I can't tell based off your pictures which one it is. I assume it is the brass one though.
thanks for your reply. these are bad photos due to a relative holding the coins visited us for a day and this was all rushed. unfortunatley i cannot tell you what one the other side is due to my bad knowledge. if it was a valuable one how much would it be worth? also do you know anything about the 1996 world cup coin?
None of these coins are "valuable". I found your world cup coin: https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide...-pounds-km-973-1996-cuid-1130252-duid-1327335 And the other one: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces13390.html
You'll have to provide a link of where it SOLD for a grand. Not where someone is trying to SELL it for a grand .. there's many ripoff websites out there like etsy, pinterest, etc that try to sell worthless (comparatively) stuff for wild prices.
For the world cup 1996 coin, they made a regular circulation type strike and a 22K gold proof coin in this design, the 22K gold coin Double Sovereign is worth about 1200 euros or so, not the regular coin, the regular coin is maybe worth 6 euros if it was in perfect uncirculated condition.
there wasn't one. OP only had the silverish version of it. but the OP referenced one selling for 1k, which probably was the gold version of it. here's a link for the Gold version 1996 World Cup coin https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/proof-sets/proof-2-coins/double-sovereign-1996/
OK I see now, very confusing. BTW its not a World Cup coin. It was struck for the European Championships held in England.
