I am delving into Early American Coppers (EAC). I liked this coin and it seemed reasonably priced. I welcome any thoughts... I am using my cell phone and 1 desk lamp to take pictures - so basically exposure, tone, color, etc. are random. The photo above of the obverse is fairly realistic in color (chocolate brown). The color of the reverse looks the same as the obverse in hand, but in the picture it came out a lighter brown. I splurged and bought photo editing software - Gimp - for a total cost of $0.00.
Cool coin, and a good starting point for you into EACs. Kudos. Can you imagine being able to buy something with 1/2 ¢ ???
Great color! I'm not a fan of the scratch from her throat to the rim, but overall a solid coin if the price was right.
Magnificent buy! As for being 'raw' I hope it works out in your favor. A lot of history in your hand. Thanks for posting it.
Nice surfaces, great color. 1807 C-1 (only variety that year) somewhere between die stages III and IV. (Breen die stages, I don't have the Manley die stage book.)
I think you did extremely well! Did it pass the “sniff” test?..... Yes, that is the most pitiful dog pun that came to mind. But it really is a very nice acquisition. I would be quite proud to call her mine.
