Counterfeit or error or?

    Maybe a grease-filled strike that a mint employee caught and gouged the reverse to note it as a reject ?

    Just a thought.
    Someone should have a more solid opinion though.

    Sorry, but, for some reason it looks like a poor attempt at a counterfeit.

    IMHO, I believe that it is a Counterfeit as well! The scratches on the Reverse might have been done by someone to deface the coin as an indicator that it is not real. However, they should have defaced both the Reverse and the Obverse!

    I looks like it has been cast and not stamped. The details aren't crisp and the texture looks porous.

    Thanx for your opinion. I agree. Strange there is no date & letters missing (rev).

    Thanx 4 input. Still its an interesting piece, and not without value as a counterfeit.
