But I got my first fractional note today! Nothing special, but it was cheap and I liked it. Any info I should know?
Nice fractional. You have the red seal type, but I can't make out if it's the short or long key type. Let's see what the other members think it is. Lou
i dont have my friedberg with me... but it does look to be the long key variety of this issue. maybe RickieB will be by with more details
Very well done, even though it is not in pristine condition I think most of us would welcome it into our collections LOL
Hi Guy's....out of town in the "Big Easy" ( New Orleans) at a BioFuel's conference....taking a short break..will try to get on later. This note looks like the "thin" key to me but the condition is poor as stated. If the poster would repost the image but add additional contrast I could tell better. anyhow the value is minimal in good with Gem and high CHCU examples going for $275 down to 150 range. Looks like variety 1 with the "i" in Allisons sig and not the "e". If it were a dotted "e" that would change the value somewhat! See ya later... RickieB
Thanks Rickie! I'll get a better scan with higher contrast. But its final exam time, so it may take a while. I'm not concerned much about the value, just curious - its worth at least the $6 I payed for it.
That's a sweet note. Wonder what some cashier would do if you tried to spend it as a dime (just don't try it in the vending machine, I have a feeling it wouldn't work, but I'm not an expert). Nice find OP.
LOL... Do you guy's know that fractional currency is still legal tender...it has never be de-monitized... Want to freak someone out...go spend one... RickieB
the image is fine.. its the note that makes it hard to read lol Notice the red seal ... Near the center of the seal, is a key... this note had 2 varieties.. a short key, and a long key ... to me, it looks to be the long key varieity, but with a closer look at the seal, i could easily be wrong. It just all the folds the notes has.. it makes seeing the key that much harder lol
It is difficult to tell with all the folds..an easier way would be to measure the key... The long key type is 5mm in length..the short is 4 mm in length. Let us know...but it appears to me to be the long key.. RickieB
