The entire extent of my commemorative collection. Two coins I find very cool - ships!

(1920– 1921) Pilgrim Tercentenary - Silver Half Dollar

Excellent choices for both 'modern' and 'classic'.......:)

    Nice!

I once thought about putting together a subset of classic commemoratives with ships, but didn't complete it. The Hudson was one that eluded me.

If you like ships, there are lots of coins out there with 'em.Certain Portugal Escudos and Italian Lira coins come to mind, and I'm sure there are many others.

One of my favorites is the 1892-1893 Columbian Exposition half dollars. They were actually the very first U.S. commemoratives. I have several dozen of those. They are very hard for me to resist since my interest in them was started by my dad. I've actually been bidding on some tonight, and also putting in offers on some.

Guess the grade on the Pilgrim - I bought it slabbed but it is now free to run wild.

    Very nice!

Here's my contribution to the classic commems with ships, and is the hundred years older counterpart to your Columbus commem:

I'm going to stray a little from the OP, but stay with the @CoinCorgi ship theme. Here is the Delaware Tercentenary and a 1938 commemorative 2 Kroner from Sweden. Both have the Swedish ship Kalmar Nyckel which carried the first Swedish immigrants/colonists to the new world. The 2 Kroner isn't that expensive, so this makes a cool pair for the classic commem collector or ship theme collector

(These are internet photos, I don't have access to my pair at the moment)

Not a US Mint piece, but definitely commemorative (of the Revolution), silver, and with a ship! What’s not to love? 9AF4CE2F-E188-46BA-B85B-B5F3412B9E05.jpeg DE0255F5-1FAD-4459-A1C4-1AB2ACF3FB6F.jpeg
