    While it is a nice example piece, sadly it is just not too good of a strike. Sorry, but not a double die!

    Welcome to Coin Talk. I'm not an expert on error coins but if you posted this on the Error Coins forum you'd probably get more replies. Here's a few sites you can check your coin against to see if you have anything:

    @jd313 (and other collectors new to errors). The links @thomas mozzillo posted have a lot of good info and are worth bookmarking if you plan to search for doubled dies. Doubleddie.com has a tab marked worthless doubling that explains MD. If you're on CT for any length of time, you'll notice that nearly all of the Doubled Die questions from New collectors turn out to be machine doubling or die deterioration doubling. Learning to identify them will save you a lot of time.
