Can I have the phone number of the coin dealer you spoke with? I really need to speak to him!

It may seem stupid but I'm probably going to have it graded and encased. Lincoln is my favorite president the fact liberty is actually on him is a little symbolic in my opinion.

Yup. That does sound stupid. What a waste of money.

Grading it would be a waste of your hard earned money. It looks like a die clash. Try matching it up the the reverse of the coin. Probably part of the building. Find another coin dealer in the meantime.

No. Not at all. Just honest. But hey, if you want to waste your money, it's yours to waste.

I took a second look. It's not just under Lincoln's beard. It goes behind his head and collar. Not a die crack either. It's part of the memorial building.

It's funny I see liberty very faint it looks just like part of liberty I already considered the memorial originally I thought it was 4 bars there but when I looked closer those are letters I'm 90 percent sure I will however go to an expert good advice collecting nut

You're welcome and we are trying to help based on your photos. In handbis much better. I just don't see letters. :)

It will cost you $50 or so to have it slabbed, and even then they would probably just body bag it instead of slabbing it. Put it in a slab yourself. Take some better photos more in focus and perhaps @Fred Weinberg will be able to give you some guidance. He is one of the leading authorities on errors.

Clearer photos and a closeup of what you see as letters would be appreciated. Thank you. (From the one photo IMO it looks like a die clash).
edit. Measure the spacing from the LIBE on the left side of the coin and the spacing from what you see as LIBE under Lincoln's jaw and chin. There's a big difference.

If you like this coin you can just put it in a 2x2 coin flip.
People are just trying to save you an unnecessary expense. (Over $30)
I don't know what the current fascination with getting coins graded is all about, but very few actually need to be graded.
I suppose you could get it graded from a company with a lower reputation in the $10 range.
