On the reverse side of this coin i cannot tell if the mark on the steps were from the penny roll or the die, my opion is if it was from a roll the pressure would have made a mark on the face side. But thats why i am here lol thanks
I don't see anything. I also would respectfully request that you flip the reverse images so they are properly oriented. You are asking about the reverse of the coin and expecting everyone to break their necks to try and see what you are talking about
No worries. If you have a question about the steps, you should try to get a clear, close, properly oriented picture so we can help ya.
Welcome to the neighborhood! The lack of definition on the steps could be due to a weak strike or simply the result of a grease-filled die. Chris
to me it looks like someone starting a squeeze job on the reverse with another obverse. Thus flattening the stairs and the top of the memorial. looks like the memorial is pushed in a bit if you look at the roof, etc as the horizontal lines are no longer straight. The indent starts at below A in America a large circular area at the base of the stairs to the ON in ONE base of the stairs up to the Top of the Memorial through the pillars. The pics need to be MUCH clearer though to really see anything. if rotated you can see the outline of lincoln a bit better is this die clash stuff or a fake die clash (squeeze job). my mind isn't working right now so maybe I'm just seeing things.
