No you are not correct. That is some sort of damage caused after it left the Mint. That is no kind of any known error.
    Worth? 25 cents

I am not an expert, obviously. That being said , I disagree. Maybe the photos aren't very good, but if you look the obverse..the ribbon that ties Washington's hair together is in 3 different spots. There's one close to where it should be, one by his mouth/on his cheek, and one on the left hand side of the d stamp.

That's sad. Oh well. Can't help you anymore.

Send it to a third party grader like NGC or PCGS and they will tell you what you have. You need to pay extra for the attribution. We do it for free.

In my 34 years of collecting and attributing mint errors and can truly state.. That is no mint error of any kind :yack:

Just saw this after I did my post. I can tell you haven't had your cup this morning. You misspelled coffee. And no period at the end of your sentence. LOL Hope you've had a cup of the java by now @paddyman98. Have a great day. :)

He may not have had his coffee, but I agree this appears to be damage that was done after leaving the mint.

If a person only wants a positive view they should not ask a question that could be different than they wish. I would estimate that today there will be more than 50 queries similar and if lucky, 1 or 2 will be mint made errors or varieties, less than 5%, so one should expect the answer they do not want to hear. If we lied like Etsy places we would be there rather than here. We do not have the coin in hand , we have only photos and not the best at that most of the time. Everyone has the right to disagree with us, but to do so, you should have some references rather than just "belief " that it is not what a person says. Jim

    It's a damaged coin -

Not an error of any kind or type.

It didn't leave the US Mint like that.
