Question

i was wondering how long you let bufffalo nickels pickel in vinager to let the dates start to come out . and any tips ? tried a handfull of datles nickels hoping to have some fun with my grand son.

The quick answer is yes, but it is slow.

Vinegar is VERY weakly acidic.
And the acid (acetic) is not strong in the first place.

So you're using a weak solution of a weak acid.
This about the dates showing when your grandson starts shaving.

Coca Cola would probably work better.

 

Takes about a week or two from what I've experienced.
