1923 Silver Cert and a story

    Here is a scan of 2 1923 Silver Certificates. One kinda beat and ragged looking and the other CU. I'll show ya the back in a moment

    Here is a scan of the backs. You can see on the older looking bill some writing. " Josie- you don't see many of these anymore. Save it for your first grandchild. Weppie 9/7/32"
    Josie is my grandmother (passed away 5 years ago) Weppie was her aunt. And me? I'm her first grandchild. I would guess that my grandma was the one who got me interested in paper money.......:smile

    at first I was going to say something funny about the writing on the bill, but I think the sentimental value of that note will far outweigh any monetary decrease in value due to the writing.

    The reality is, this note will mean more to you than it ever will to someone else. Awesome note to have in a collection.

    Yes, for sure, the value of that old bill to me is priceless. She actually gave me that bill on my 16th birthday (I'm 58 now) She told me I should use it towards buying a car :)

    If you had bought that car, I bet the car would be long gone by now.
