Why are so many ancients so far off center?

Isn't Philadelphia kind of like that today... :)

Can I ask the experienced coin-collectors:

Is it true that most coins were made by slaves? Do numismatic-historians, let say David Sear and others, say so?

It is first time I hear slaves made them, but on the other side I don't read much numismatic-books.

Since it is one of those tasks where people don't demand quality (they were items to facilitate commerce) and it could be boring, uncomfortable (hot), and dangerous, it wouldn't surprise me.

After thinking of it, then it must mean that silver and gold were made by profesionals. I assume.

Be careful when you assume... :)
