Wow I actually have a legit one lol finally... any value to something like this? I dont see lamination talked about a lot so I'm assuming not really?
Laminations are certainly collectible if you like them. However, minor lams do not really have much value over face. It would need to be a very bold lamination.
Nice lamination crack.. They are common on older wheat cents. Always nice to find. Here are some extreme Laminations from my collection.
Hey, V, yours isn't shabby... think about circulating all those years with that little bit thinking ... do I fall off today or... nope, today is not that day. And now you've swooped in and put it into a nice 2x2 to keep it safe. It's over 100 years old - the stories it could tell... These kinds of errors may not be valuable, but they are definitely FUN to find!
My great grandma actually had this in a 2x2 for a long time.. she passed away 10 years ago. My mom had them and gave them to me bc I started coin collecting. I love this hobby.
The honor is ours, @Victoria Littlefield, believe it. If one thinks about it, this is three generations of a collection in a family winding up with a family member who actually knows what the hell to do with it, i.e., enjoy it! Do you know how many come on here just seeking advice on how they can cash off on a collection like that? You're one of us, now. That is to say, you're in it for life, and there's no turning back. Welcome to the hobby!
Awesome find!!! I'll share what I've found. I don't know how extreme it is but very cool. It has four flaps.
