Is it a doubled die need answers

    Found this searching through uncirculated pennys anyone think this is a doubled die i mean it matches the pics ive found its clearly doubled and to my info its a type1 rotated hub doubling making it a double die

    I think the doubling you see is actually machine doubling. Looks flat. Not a true double die. But I could be wrong. I've always had got this one wrong. Let others chimed in.

    Did u see the pic i showed from a coin expert pics it looks the same and its only on the liberty and some of the in god we trust

    Yes I seen every picture you posted. Your coin has machine Doubling which is flat.

    Just look at the "G" in God, notice how in the DD example it is extremely doubled and raised ( rounding) and on yours is singular and flat, and it can't just be close , it has to be exactly like . Seeing an "F" as the first letter of a car's name , it could be Ferrari, but more likely Ford or Fiat. As Shrews says, flat double so machine doubling, 1 cent.

    But since it won't bring much keep it and keep it labeled, so you can judge your progress as you look at more threads..None of us was born with the knowledge. Jim

    Yes it takes time to find doubled dies. That is good that you are trying to learn. When I first started collecting I would have thought that was a double die too lol. But keep it up

    don't forget to take the coin out of the flip when you take photos.
    The plastic takes away details, create light reflections and can create false visual impressions.
