Any idea based on the aspects of this nickel what era this may be? There appears to be a strike already under the "8" in 198_. I took an up close pic of it. Can't quite make out the mint mark. I'd be interested in selling it but would like to get some insight into the aspects of this nickel if it may point to the "80's" or earlier? later? SUPER NEWBIE here with a whole lot to learn. Please be patient...with me! I value your insight and kindness as I am learning here.
@BKay your enthusiasm is laudable, but just realize that the overwhelming majority of circulating coins are worth face value. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than finding a valuable coin in change. Continue to ask questions, but also read, here and in books, to further your knowledge.
Just a DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged You can't sell that. It's not a mint error of any kind. Only worth 5 Cents.
