    Hello everyone..
    I was traveling from the DFW Airport a few days ago and paid cash for some coffee and got some change with a receipt on my way back to Seattle. I got home and found this wrapped in the receipt with a few other coins from the purchase. All I could do it take some pictures to help describe it. It's really shiny on the front and it doesn't looked scratched on the obverse.

    What's your thoughts on this one? What is something like this worth? If any? (please be kind...I'm just starting...learning)

    I'm NOT sure why my profile is showing myself as a "Dealer"...checking into this now. SO FAR FROM THAT!!!

    That quarter is damage. Nothing more nothing less. Spend it (if you can).

    It's what I call a DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged :yack:

    Also. Coins are struck/minted.. Not printed. Paper currency is printed with ink.

    Agree with others that the quarter is damage.

    Thank you Paddyman...nice rhyme too.

    Are y'all able to see the other two pictures of it? I'm only seeing one on my side.

    Looks like a hand cut planchet and hammered coin to me . . .

    The obverse has some 'buckling' (if you will) but the reverse doesn't. It's flat on the reverse through the Eagle (no buckling) just the 'obvious' above. (better seen with lighting but also in the pic??)

    @BKay some responders don't read carefully. Someone vented their rage on that poor quarter with a hammer. I reported your post to see if they can change your "dealer" status. Welcome to CT

    @Kentucky : Thank you for your thoughtful response. I had also emailed to further inquire but haven't heard anything. Again, I respectfully appreciate your random act of kindness in stepping in to help one 'stranger' to another so perhaps things like this won't happen again. I can't wait to share this as a valuable Online "mini-lesson" with my high school students when we start school next week. (helping one another online without hesitation)

    That's one of the best damaged coins I've ever seen. Since you got it at the airport I can only assume that someone wanted it out of the state of Texas.

    Hammer time! You have to wear the parachute pants while you're working.

    It's called a visual aid for the teacher. I think some people are just a little to sensitive and don't have a sense of humor. They take this coins stuff a little to serious, don't you think?

    @BKay

    We see a lot of deliberately damaged coins here. Apparently, some people are too bored for their own good. Welcome to CT!
