I have this 1943-S Lincoln Penny very shinny gold, not shinny copper. It is magnetic. Looks like a DDO or double punch mint mark. Ever seen this before? It's hard to photograph because it is so shinny.
Sorry, but somebody plated this after it left the mint. It really has no numismatic value. Keep it if you think it's interesting, but don't expect to get rich from it
Mint marks were hand punched into the Die.. So they cannot be Doubled Die.. It looks the way it does because it is a reprocessed plated steel Cent. No Mint error.. No variety. It's not fake.. Just altered.
If it's plated, there are many companies out there (now and in the past) that take US coinage and add some pizzazz !! to it and sell them back to the public. This is an example of a company gold plating all years of cents, nickels, dimes, quarters, etc. and a batch of 30/40s wheat cents ... https://www.merrickmint.com/lot-of-...coins-24k-gold-plated-lincoln-cent-penny.html
This site will explain the process of the coin being plated. www.sciencecompany.com/Turn-Copper-Pennies-Into-Silver-and-Gold-Pennies.aspx
