    Which diagram would that be @furryfrog02 ? I don't see any doubling on this coin.

    I just posted this one showing an easy-to-see representation between MD and DD. Wish I could give whoever made it their proper thank you, but I've had it so long I don't remember where I got it.

    Have you compared your coin to any examples on varietyvista or copper coins? That should be your first stop.
    My second suggestion would be to stay away from tiny doubling. Focus on known bigger varieties until you get a handle on what is and what isn't actual doubling. Hell, I've been roll searching for about 7 years now and still stay away from the minutiae. Only people like @Rick Stachowski have the knowledge, eye for, and testicular fortitude to search for every little doubled die.

    @Bargainbidder

    I suspected that this was the image. I've always disagreed with this diagram because the representation of machine doubling is misleading. It shows a curvature where the vertical and horizontal planes meet. The term, "flat and shelf-like", means that the two planes should meet at a 90 degree angle, not curved as this diagram indicates.

    Fair enough. If you have a better picture though, I'd be happy to add it to the list :)

    Like the value of copper pennies, I guess I'll just have to keep reminding people that this part of the diagram is wrong.

    I would need a closeup of LIBERTY, to know for sure .
