Any thoughts on if this coin is authentic and if it is what might it be worth? I’m concerned that it may be a fake. I’m trying to buy a decent owl Tetradrachm for my collection and am curious to what a good price to pay for it is if it is real. This one is polished. Thanks.
What is the weight? Personally, I don't like it. Possibility of casting bubbles on the owl side. Full crest and nose on Athena usually carries a premium.

I vote BBBBBBBAAAAAAAADDDDDdddddd. I've never seen an edge like that on one of these. Nice looking coin; I hope I'm wrong.
If real, that would be an expensive coin. To get an idea of a retail price, search somewhere like Vcoins.
Also "good price" is pretty vague. Do you want to spend more or less than $1,000? Many have recently come to market so you should be able to find one.
I had bought this coin off of eBay for 400 dollars. The seller guaranteed it to be real. He said he would give me a refund on it.
Probably cast from a real coin. Design looks correct, but the metal and strike appear to yell "forgery." Note the liver of sulfur used to create fake aging/toning around the details. If real, even in the flooded Athenian market of 2019, it's still a $1500+ coin. I say the deal was too good to be true. Hopefully the return goes smoothly; if you take that route.
I have authenticity concerns. I have been studying these for a few months. This one just feels wrong.
When I opened the package the coin looked different in reality compared to the eBay photos. I contacted the seller last night asking for a return because I thought the coin was fake and he said he would give me a full refund and return before I created this thread. I just wanted to make sure I did not make a mistake in calling this coin a fake. Thanks for the help guys!
