Does anyone know if this coin has any value over the price of gold or how much gold it has? I can only find it on one website that says that it is a Rare 900 Caracas. I know that it's been made into jewelry and that usually reduces it just to gold value.
It's a 1.5 gram 22k gold coin, not old, as it celebrates the 400 year existence of Caracas, I think. Worth its weight in gold, which is more than I can say for a lot of stuff.
Caracas is a city in Venezuela. Not a denomination. Some coin information - https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/caracas-venezuela-gold-medal-400th-496374248
It's .900 gold, so don't forget to factor that into your calculation: (.9 x 1527.4) x (6/31.1) = 1374.66 x .1929 = $265.17 EDIT: disregard this - your figure of 6 grams (net) gold weight is correct
Coin weighs 6.4516 grams. It contains 6 grams of gold. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces42581.html
