New Greek

    Other than a few common coins to pug holes this is my first ancient coin of the year. It’s a good way to start off the summer.

    Greek, Akarnaia-Leukas, 16mm bronze
    Obv, Bellerophon riding Pegasus/ rev Chimera

    Splendid! Its always good to add another Greek AE to the collection.

    Pre-Hellenistic, I presume?

    Yes it is. thanks you.

    The pic is better looking than the coin, because I took it in to work to show my boss and we had to go out side to really look at it. But it’s still a nice coin for my collation.

    We have a deal, he pretends to be interested in coins and I pretend to like Astrophotography.

    Hey, what's to dislike about astrophotography? :)

    I'm imagining Hubble images of galaxies and whatnot...what you're referencing is probably completely different and way more boring, ha.
