    No need to try.. It is damaged.

    Not even a Coinstar machine would accept that Quarter :yack:

    Only mintmarks on 1978 quarters an be D or S. And that year, the S one would only be on proof quarter. So this has to be a D.

    And the coin is damaged. Not an error coin.
