Does anyone know of a good reference for Euro mintages (all countries & all denominations)? I would prefer a website, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to add another book to the library. Thanks in advance.

My only guess, at this time, would be the new Standard Catalog of World Coins 2005 edition but having not seen one yet I don't know if they are current with the euro mintages or not. I think, if you don't own one, the catalog would be a huge addition to your coin collecting library as they are outstanding reference material but also a little costly. I just purchased new 1601 to 1700 and 1801 to 1900 editions so I am in hog heaven! They are huge catalogs and it takes me countless hours to go through them lusting for all the coins I do not have YET!!! Other than these catalogs I haven't seen anything on the market that may give you what you are looking for. If you do find some on-line site with mintages I myself hope you post the information so all of us will have that information as well! Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Terry, I kinda had a hunch you would be the first one to reply!!!! :p When I think "Euro Collector", you are the first one I think of! I was going to PM you asking this question but I figure it is good enough to share with the board. :D

Since there isn't a mintage reference readily available, you wouldn't happen to know of any particularly "rare" or varieties, anything to watch out for? (circulating coins only) I've recently acquired quite a few euro coins from my Mom's boyfriend when he came back from a business trip to Germany.

There was a very recent thread in which a number of Euro sites were posted, among them this one and this one..

Thanks Roy, but I have already searched those sites and came up empty handed with mintage figures. Maybe I just overlooked them. Very good sites though.

The euro nations are very diverse when it comes to mintages. While I seek out any silver commemoratives I can get my hands on some are rising in value faster than others due to limited mintages. Those mintages, if I understand correctly, are governed by the EU based on population base so it doesn't take long to figure out who can flood the market and who can't. I will do some checking around and see if I can come up with some numbers.

Thanks Christian, that last (private) website was kinda what I was looking for. I wish it were in English, but I could decipher it enough to get mintage figures. Much appreciated. :D

Official information about euro mintages is somewhat hard to get because there is no "central" official site that provides such info. This is from the French Mint's website, for example ...
    http://www.monnaiedeparis.fr/fonds_doc/monnaiec.htm
... this is from the Finnish Central Bank ...
    http://www.bof.fi/eng/4_raha/4.1_euro/Eurokolikoiden_lyontimaarat_eng.stm
... and so on. For euro collectors it is also important to know whether a certain country/denomination/year(/mintmark) combination is available "raw" or in mint sets only. Anyway, here is another private page listing euro mintages in English:
    http://euroauflagen.mine.nu/index.php?lang=en&mode=nokms

The "2 Euro CC" column (right) refers to the €2 commemorative coins. These commems are also listed and described at the European Central Bank's website:
    http://www.ecb.int/bc/coins/comm/html/comm_2004.en.html
