What do you think of this? I am no expert, but it looks harshly cleaned and maybe even fake??? http://cgi.ebay.com/1830-CAPPED-BUS...ryZ11969QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Looks real to me, maybe cleaned - so AU to MS62 details in my opinion. Of course i did not look long and hard at it.
Looks like it may have had a two second too-long a dipping. But it's hard to tell from the photo. You could end up with a bargain, but my guess is you may be disappointed in the surfaces when you get it in hand. Looks like the seller offers a legit return policy with decent feedback, so may only be risking postage to find out.
I am wondering, because this coin is SO rare, and for its condition, it should be slabbed. Something is fishy.... Because the fist thing I would do is get it slabbed!
A lot of the folks that collect these would bust it out of a slab. I don't care for the coin but might think differently if it was in my hand.
Well. I would say dipped for sure. It looks real, but look at the rest of the stuff this seller is selling. 90% of the stuff he has looks cleaned. Im thinking this seller is a coin Dr or at least a little bit of a shiester. He has a few Trade Dollars that look pretty iffy to me. But im just a paranoid Oldman.
I'm not sure about the Trade Dollars as well. The rest of his images do look alike. Maybe from cleaning or maybe just the same imaging setup. I can't tell.
Looks to me that they may have been cleaned, I'm not positive either with those pictures. I'd stay away from buying any of them anyway. Maybe its just me but I just dont like the look of them.
I stay away from all the trade dollars I see on eBay, because there are just way too many copies going around
I gotta wonder why it's not slabbed. Wondering about the photos as well. Obverse looks too mark free. Not blasting the seller just wouldn't personally bid.
