1956 D wheat penny (missing "L" in Liberty)

    8E8174AE-C2D9-414D-9A54-ABBEFF0CE2B2.jpeg 41E2D43B-D7D7-4A1B-BFF1-734A1FD5EC2A.jpeg Can someone help me identify if this penny is error for missing "L" in Liberty on obverse side are if it the coin is just damaged. Would really like to hear everyone’s thought on this -thanks!

    It is called die deterioration damage from overuse of the die. The force of the die making thousands of cents cause the upper area to slowly spread to the perimeter, That is why the letters close to the edge shows distortion or blend with the rim. It is not of any increased value, as this is very common and considered damage. Jim
