They're fun. I completed the whole series in lower grade (G-F) in the 1990s.

As you may have seen, there are a couple (an 1860 copper-nickel and an 1873) in the Prize #1 pick bin list.

Added an 1891 quarter to the Prize #1 Pick Bin. Low grade, sure, but a decently appealing example for its pricerange. (Which would be zero if you won it.)

Also, an 1893 Columbian half. Will continue to add more goodies to the Prize #1 Pick Bin, thereby widening the selection at the end of the month.

I was surprised today when my wife handed me a “thanks for being you” gift. Along with a darn fine bottle of scotch, I found this tucked down in there. Just her accepting my hobby, even supporting it, is the greatest gift... and the scotch.

Thanks to LordM and his faithful band of collectors for putting this all together every month. I never have much time, but the CT community has really rekindled my drive to fill these folders I’ve had my entire life.

    Prize choice: 8-10-9-1-anything really

    Thanks all, and god bless.

I wanted to share the near heart attack I had the other day.
I was going through some Mint Set/Proof Roosevelt Dimes.
    I THOUGHT I had come across a 1968-S Proof Dime-with No S.

While researching it, I saw a website that said it had been sold for $48,875 at auction. After MUCH research, it was just a Philadelphia.

My wife thought it was funny I was freaking out over a dime! LOL

I just got my first ancient (a tiny jital) and now I can feel my OCD whispering, "It's time to buy some more." Thank you to all generous donors and good luck everyone. I select: 1,3,2,11,10,12 then anything.

Sold four items from the Pick Bin (which Prize #1 is drawn from), but added six more, including some even-older ancients and some unusual stuff (a nice big old Japanese shōgun coin and a large Weimar-era German porcelain medal.

The new additions are shown as "on hold" merely because they have not yet arrived. I would imagine they probably will, in time for the end of the month when the drawings are done.

Thanks. Get me some pix and a description soon.

Likewise to anyone else who wants to be a September donor.

And please don't ship anything to me. Hold on to any donations until the end of that month and ship them to the winner(s).

I'm happy to be a coordinator for group giveaways, but would like to get away from being a physical custodian/photographer/reshipper of any lots I do not own.

My favorite and one of the most interesting events in Roman history... the capture of Emperor Valerian by Shapur I.. (260AD)

    Valerian_Shapur.jpg
A bas relief of the Roman Emperor Valerian standing at the background and held captive by Shapur I found at Naqsh-e Rustam, Shiraz, Iran. The kneeling man is probably Philip the Arab.

    ------

Not the best of examples but they are part of the story......

Here’s the last page in my 7070. I used silver coins wherever possible, that meant putting a proof coin here and there. E404B11A-0C1E-4CC3-8F07-DFED11343636.jpeg
