Well at least you got the terminology right.. Doubled ear not double ear as the past 50 threads in the past month concerning doubled ear questions have been created by other members
Haha if it's not there its not there right. thanks for checking it out. Recognizing what's normal on these cent rolls I'm going through isn't proving easy yet...the ears especially tend to be worn/smushed alot it looks like. As you seem to be enjoying my overkill of pics lol... I thought I'd ask for an opinion on what this circle with what looks like a star in it to the left of lincolns ear in this 2016 cent could be from? It doesn't look like it goes through to the reverse I don't think if that makes a difference...
Its pareidolia , the brain finding images in randomness. You missed the image of the guy in sunglasses to the left of it. only 'face' value. Jim
Heyyyy !! I see the guy in sunglasses...I really do......right next to the star in the circle....right next to Lincoln's ear.....It's all becoming very clear now. BTW, I see the sad cookie also, with the downturned eyes and the upturned frown....so sad ! Does the guy in the sunglasses have a pirate bandana on or not? I say yes.
Twofold inquiry: — What triggered this doubled ear slew of inquiries? — If someone finds one, is it worth anything?
Trust me....it didn't. As I understand it, for the longest time the only doubled ear known was the 1984 LMC, then somewhat more recently, several more years with varieties of doubled ears have been "found" or "atributed". I'm not that deep into what I call "microscope" varieties so that's about the extent of my knowledge on the "new" doubled ear Lincolns.
