What initially caught my attention what what appeared to be doubling on the nose. Then I noticed some strange areas beneath and behind the ear, the neck, the bottom curl of the first 9 in the date, the way the bottom of the Y in Liberty bows out, many of the leaves on the reverse and the lower section eagles left wing which seems to actually be missing some lines. Also checkout the eagles legs and claws, those look to be doubled to me! But probably nothing here... does anyone see what I’m talking about?

OP, don't worry paddyman is short and to the point but spot one. He answers literally dozens of error coin qustions every day so if you want additional information on errors and doubling go to Wexler's site. Should be easy to google the address. Keep hunting!

@MCPark82, I don't want to temper your enthusiasm, but I want to give you some "food for thought" regarding this coin & future coins you may post, where you propose that there is something special about them.

The Phila. Mint produced One Billion, 4 Million, 336 thousand of these 24 yr old coins. Those dies were very overworked, resulting in a lot of die deterioration issues. Additionally, the coin you posted shows extreme circulation wear.

Now, you've been a CT member since last Nov. & while I don't know how long you have been collecting, you should have seen enough threads by now to help you determine what "may be" & what "isn't".

If you don't have one by now, please secure a Red Book, as it will help you tremendously (ignore coin values).

I only responded to your thread to help you optimize the number & quality of responses you receive. I initially deleted this thread (as I'm sure many others did), but decided to recover it & write this because I noticed a trend. JMHO :happy::happy:
