hmm....it is a "gold certificate", but I believe that $1000 face value worth of MS-67 $20 Saint Gaudens wouldnt go for near that much, unless they are the ultra high relief version.....but Im no currency expert. I always tend to think this way when I see high value gold certificates though...:p

If you search the forum you will see at least one other thread on this. I don't know anything about that bill, but I would buy other more rare coins than that.

It's too bad all his auction info is private in his feedback profile. I've seen alot of his multi-million dollar auctions before and it would be interesting how much he has actually sold, and who bought them!

    As Daggarjon stated.

I think if ANY of his stuff sold for these prices it would hit mainstream media. We sure heard about the 1933 St. Gaudens.

It's just another way of marketing. Consider how much TV or print advertising can cost a business. This guy definitely has some amazing collectibles. He probably just views the listing fees as a very cheap method of raising awareness for his store. From there people probably contact him by the troves and ask him what other notes or coins he has.

    Overpriced - Yes
    Over hyped - Yes
    Business smart - Yes

I actually checked out his website...and he has a ton of nice notes on there for sale. Also, all of them are "email for price" too, I'm tempted to write a couple emails and see how much he actually wants for the notes...but I haven't done it yet.

Here is his website if you want to though: www.arcadecurrencypalace.com But, I must warn you. REALLY loud music on his home page.

Its Obviously a selling tatic this guy use's a lot/ Im sure it works too. I mean look now many people talk about it when they see it. Some one see's that asking price and thinks thats crazy, but It sure it a nice item. and then there ya go. Some one drops a offer on it for like 10% of what hes asking and he might take it. Its not right but its not ilegal. Reason: A collectibal is worth what some one will payfor it.
