My son has been sifting through pennies for about a week.. He found a couple.. Wondering if this was an error or?
Welcome to Coin Talk. The D mint mark on your cent looks a little thick. In 1953 the Denver mint produced at least 29 different cents with a repunched mint mark. If you could post a clear photo of the date and mint mark it would help us determine if you have one. Here's a site to check: http://varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/RPMs 1953D.htm Don't see anything on the 58 D and the 56 looks like it's damaged. IMO it looks like a gouge and is considered damaged. (Unless the part that looks like a scar on Lincoln's face is raised)
And since it's on the What's it Worth forum.. again well.. 1 Cent each! All Cents are PMD - Post Mint Damage. Circulation wear and tear
What im seeing is obvious damage. Even if there was an rpm, it would have no value with the damage thats there.
Always try and get your pictures as close as you can and show both sides. My first thought of your 56 was damage. My second thought was a possible struck thru. However, whichever doesn't make much difference.
