I have started my grandchildren on a world coin collection. Need a recommendation for an album or best method of storing them. Would it be best to buy pages with pockets that fit a 3 ring binder? Since coins will range in size, what size pocket(s) should I buy? And can you recommend a supply source? Thanks!

I store all my world coins in 2x2 flips put into 2x2 pocket pages in 3 ring binders. Most world coins will fit into the 2x2s and leave enough room to write identifications on them. They are also mostly low-value and therefore do not need much more protection than what a 2x2 provides. I currently have 3 binders to divide my coins out. North/Central/South America (not including USA), Europe/Africa, Asia/Oceania.

I store all my coins that are half dollar size or smaller in 1 1/2 X 1 1/2's rather than 2 X 2's. That way you get 30 per page, rather than 20 per page. Make sure that you flatten all staples or get a special stapler that makes them flat from the get-go. Especially with foreign coins, there may be many many coins and most will be easily put in 1 1/2 X 1 1/2's. There's still plenty of room to write if the writing is fairly small.

    A pricier option, but nice:

@martybox, I second this approach. I helped my son get started on an OFEC collection when he was about 8 yo, and this is exactly how we did it. Works great, and provides plenty of protection for lower value world coins.
