    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

I'm not really sure what this is, a coin or some type of advertising token? An interesting porcelain thing whatever it is. There was a dude named Fredrick Wolf that was a write from Dresden, did he have something to do with the typewriter company? Shriebmaschine is a typewritter by the way. Anyhow, is the coin (obverse is on the right, not left).

I picked up the 1966 Panamanian Proof Set from my LCS for $30. I have read these were minted by the Royal Canadian Mint but that the dollar sized coin ( the Balboa) was minted at the San Francisco Mint (Numista). If that was true would the SF mint send the Balboa proof dollars to Canada to be packaged?

These are so cool, but the packaging is definately holding back the eye candy as I know there are no marks on this coin in hand! This 5 centesimos piece looks almost cameo... PhotoEditor_20190812_194253292.jpg PhotoEditor_20190812_194212233.jpg

    Some recent pickups:

Aland Islands (Finland) - 1994 50 Daler Token
    NGC Price Guide

Apparently, in 1994 a private company called the Aland Mint decided to mint tokens in 10, 50, and 1,000 Daler denominations. Public confusion reigned supreme (whether or not they were tokens, souvenirs, or actual spending money) and the Bank of Finland (a country where I'd quite like to be - eating breakfast or dinner, or snack lunch in the hall...Finland has it all) decided to purchase the entire mintage. Surviving pieces are apparently very hard to find (reflected by the above NGC Guide price.) Bought it with the original box and COA.

    Aland Islands (Finland) - 1994 50 Daler.jpg

    France - 1950 (a) 5 Francs
Mintage of over 128 million, and a relatively low book value (about $5) but it's such a gorgeous coin I feel responsible to keep it.

    ...and...

I dunno what the heck this thing is.

    Mystery Coin.jpg

One side is a hologram sticker.

I'm thinking it's from the Czech Republic, maybe a souvenir token from the "Praga Mystica" group around the year 2000. If anyone has seen this one before, feel free to educate me.

Nice silber coin. Please take your needle nose pliers or similar tool and flatten out those staples before they scratch up some other coin.

Recently acquired some British India Madras Presidency gold Pagodas. Very small coins but have proved popular among collectors:

I don't usually go for these modern Silver Proof coins, but I have to say the reverse of this one is very well designed. Crown Size St Helena 20p Silver Proof from 2016:

These came to me in the market today. Not often you see one Wreath Crown so 6 at once is extraordinary. I am pretty confident they are all right and they come from a good collection. The 1936 fills my penultimate gap in this difficult series:

I just managed to pick up these two sovereigns which are at the top end of their respective populations at PCGS and NGC:

GB 1902 Mintage of 4,737,796 for the business strike but is rarely seen at auction. The matte proof being much more readily available. This one is an MS64+, highest at NGC with only one graded at 65 at PCGS:

GB 1905 sovereign with a mintage of 5,9110,403 but this MS63 Wings is the highest graded at NGC with only 3 graded higher (MS64) at PCGS:

Beautiful sovereigns. I wouldn't put much stock in the PCGS world census grades. A PCGS MS65 for world coins is an NGC MS64 virtually 100% of the time.
